Tea Time at Tyme for Tea

It was a wonderfully crisp sunny Fall day last Saturday when I went out for tea with a friend to Tyme for Tea

As I mentioned in my last tea post just a few weeks ago, Tyme For Tea is one of my favorite places for tea. I'm going to keep this post short and sweet though since my last tea post wasn't so long ago and at the same location. I just wanted to share some pics with you all from my last tea outing <3

October Tea at Tyme for Tea

It was a dark and rainy day-- a perfect day for an October tea!

As promised in one of my previous corresponding Outfit of the Day posts, here are pics and a run down from my latest tea time adventure.

It feels like it's been a while since I last went to one of my favorite places for tea, Tyme for Tea in Fremont. In fact, while savoring the warm sweet creamy drink in my tea cup my friend and I tried to figure the last time we were here. We couldn't come up with a consensus other than we both agreed it's been some time.

Tyme for Tea is a quaint tea room which shares its location with a largish antique and teaware shop in the historic Niles district of Fremont (home of many Charlie Chaplin movies!).

For afternoon tea I chose to get the Victorian tea which included a scone with fresh cream, lemon curd, and preserves, five assorted tea sandwiches which included a chicken salad sandwich, cucumber and cream cheese sandwich, a mushroom turnover, a spinach pastry, and an open face melted jalapeno cheese sandwich, and three desserts. By the time the tasty desserts arrived I was full but did manage to eat my peanut butter honeycomb dessert while taking home my butter cookie and petit four for a special treat for later.  For tea, I chose my favorite a Rooibos tea, this time in an almond coconut macaroon flavor.

Selection of desserts-- missing the peanut butter honeycomb which I ate before I remembered to take pics!

As always it was a super special treat to get to go out with a friend for tea and was made all the more sweet staying dry with warm tea inside while it remained grey and rainy outdoors.

Until the next time!

Sipping Warm Tea On A Saturday In October

In my last post I featured an Outfit of the Day for a Saturday of both tea time and a wedding.

Well, since I do love blogging about tea time, here is my post on tea time with my mother-in-law.

The weather was fair and my mother-in-law and I had a morning of antiquing at My Friends And I during their annual Christmas open house. What makes it a Christmas open house you may ask? Well I asked the same thing, hence the reason I wanted to check it out. There didn't seem to be be anything super special about this day at My Friends And I other than the 10% off your purchase, larger crowds, and a few Christmas items out for sale. Still I had a great time browsing around and even picked up some vintage buttons and belt buckles for future sewing projects.

After attending My Friends And I's open house my mother-in-law and I went out to tea at my favorite local teatime spot, Tyme For Tea just a few doors down.

The food was delicious. The scones were detectible, the savories scrumptious, and the sweets decadent. It was everything I have come to know and expect from Tyme For Tea. I sipped on a nice warm pot of almond coconut macaroon black tea while leisurely sitting and enjoying good conversation and company.

Opps! I forgot to take a picture of the sweets. We were too quick to eat these. Petit fours, brown sugar cookies, and peanut butter honeycomb balls.

A Tyme for Tea

Early March on a fine sunny day in Northern California...

Sounds like an opportune time for a tea outing! I got to spend the morning with a long lost friend of mine from high school, Julianne! What a perfect way to catch up, take a break, and spend a good, relaxing time with an old friend.

Things were a little hoppin' at Tyme for Tea in the Niles district of Fremont the morning we were there... but really when is it ever not? Hustle and bustle were going on amidst our little sanctuary of our tea table. Still, I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable morning. Good time, spent with a good friend, with a hot pot of tea and plenty of savories and sweets to munch on!

And boy was there a lot of tea going on today!

It was a lovely tea today. For the tea selection I picked a White Chocolate Mousse Black Tea while Julianne picked a Cinnamon Rose Tea. I knew my black tea was going to give me the jitters but I could not resist the sweet yummy flavor of a chocolate tea calling to me! Our first course for tea was blueberry scones with cream, lemon curd, and raspberry preserves. For the savories course (my favorite!) we were presented with chicken walnut tea sandwiches, cucumber and cream cheese tea sandwiches, mini mushroom turnovers, jalapeno and cheese crostinis, and a savory puffed pastry pinwheel. For the desserts course we had maple sugar cookies, petite fours, and white chocolate covered flaky peanut butter honeycomb balls.

After our tea we sauntered through the store a little, dilly-dallying. I became enamoured with some color saturated tea cups and saucers by Grace Tea Ware. Maybe next time I come in I will pick myself one of two of these lovely cups to take home (if they still have them) though it will take some considering which color or colors to chose. They are all so beautiful! I did pick up a lovely tea for one set in a teal blue with tiny red and yellow flowers on it. For as many teapots and tea sets I have this is only my second tea for one set... and only my first tea for one set if you don't include a one cup tea for one Alice in Wonderland set I got from ebay which was listed as a sugar and creamer to go along with a larger 4 cup Alice in Wonderland teapot...

Anyhow, aren't the colors on these cups and saucers gorgeous!

After our morning and afternoon at Tyme for Tea I went for a stroll down Niles Blvd. to take a peak in my favorite stores, My Friends and I a few stores down, and at the end of the boulevard, Suda Mae Antiques. At My Friends and I, I adopted an orange cat (statue).

At home I enjoyed another cup of tea (decaf) with my leftover sweets in my new Grace Tea Ware tea for one.

Outfit of the Day:

And as I like to, let us end the post with the outfit of the day!

Today I wore my Steady Anna dress which I got a while back from DaddyO's, and a cropped navy knit cardigan from Modcloth. To finish off this look I had a vintage navy purse from Etsy, Blowfish navy flats, and a cat brooch from ebay.

Be still my heart... a Valentine's tea at Tyme for Tea

Valentine's day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than over tea with friends!

Valentine's day is a day to celebrate those you love and care about so I feel it shouldn't be forgotten to celebrate friendships on this holiday! For this tea outing I was fortunate to be out with two old high school friends, one, my bestie from high school I just recently got reunited with and another a friend I've known since middle school whom I haven't seen in almost 10 years, Marisue and Fatima-- it is so nice to be reunited with old friends! As for celebrating this holiday with friends, it looks like I was not the only one who had this sentiment in mind. When we arrived at 11am for our first seating reservations there was a line out the door at the usually busy (but not that busy) tea place, Tyme for Tea.

Tyme for Tea is in the historic district of Fremont called Niles where they used to make Charlie Chaplin movies in the 1920s. This is a cute little area full of antique stores in historic buildings settled next to an old train station overlooking the Fremont hills. This is my most trusted go-to tea house as well as one of my favorites. Luckily, it is also one which is pretty local! It is housed in an old building which also doubles as an antiques, tea wares, and sweet shoppe.

The special for the day was a Valentine's theme tea, Cupid's Touch. I love themed teas and enjoyed seeing lots of pink in my spread which included raspberry butter and strawberry mimosas.

We started out with peach passion tea, strawberry mimosas, and a blueberry scone festively dressed in pink sugar served with pink raspberry butter. The next course was five tea sandwiches, a cucumber and caramelized onion sandwich, a chicken pesto sandwich on whole wheat, a warm basil, bacon and peach brie pinwheel, a warm tomato and pesto bruschetta, and an egg salad basket. The last course was the sweets course, a Valentine's petite four, a chocolate dripped strawberry, a pink sweetheart sugar cookie, and a chocolate truffle.

It's always fun going to Tyme for Tea and seeing all their goodies aside from what's on the table!

Outfit of the day: I thought today was the perfect occasion to take out my Trashy Diva Sweetie Hearts dress which I wore with my San Diego Hat Company wool bow cap, Mia flats, and black polka dot tights. I got this Trashy Diva Sweetie dress from Cats Like Us, my favorite shop online to buy dresses! I love it that they carry Trashy Diva, Bettie Page AND Collectif!!! So rare to find a place that carries all three of these brands (not to mention the many more brands they carry!). Also, cats like them, and they like cats, how could I not also like them? ;)
