Outfit of the Day: Putting a Spring in My Step

Hello Kittens!

Wow time really has flown by. I didn't mean to take such a long break from the blog but I blinked and before I knew it, it's been nearly a month since my last blog post.

Well, here are some Outfit of the Days to catch up on....

Outfit of the Day (Saturday):

A couple weeks ago on a Saturday some friends were throwing a Rex Manning Party (to celebrate Rex Manning day-- a throwback to the 90's movie, Empire Records). While I love any excuse to dress in theme and 90's would have been a fun theme to play with I really really wanted to wear this skirt that I had just got a few days prior from Trashy Diva so all 90's was off and Trashy Diva it was! :D

Skirt: Trashy Diva Gathered Skirt in Carnival print (bought from Trashy Diva)
Top: Trashy Diva Trixie Top in Citron (bought from Trashy Diva)
Cardigan: Heart of Haute Sweetie Wrap Cardigan (bought from Trashy Diva)
Shoes: Basic Black Flats (old- bought from Nordstrom Rack)

Outfit of the Day (Saturday):

The next weekend, after my usual sailing class with hair still wet after a shower, I went out with some friends for a casual dinner and a stop at our local 80's arcade, High Scores.

Dress: Trashy Diva Trixie dress in Ruffled Feathers (bought from ebay)
Cardigan: Cherokee Cardigan in light blue (old- bought from Target)
Shoes: Basic Black Flats (old- bought from Nordstrom Rack)

Outfit of the Day (Easter Sunday):

I was hoping to re-wear my Easter outfit from last year but it was such a dreary grey cold day, I just wasn't really feeling it this year. Instead I decided to wear my Trashy Diva Maria dress out to Easter brunch.

Dress: Trashy Diva Maria dress in Yellow Mums (old- originally bought from ebay size traded in a dress swap group)
Cardigan: Vintage white beaded Cardigan (old- bought from Etsy)
Shoes: Gabriella Rocha (old- bought from Zappos)

Outfit Of The Day: Two Looks For Kind Of Staying In

This last Labor Day weekend, for the most part of the weekend, I stayed in and worked on crafting projects and caught up with a sewing project.

I did find myself stepping out even when I was planning on staying in all day though. On Sunday I went out for a bagel run to Panera Bread... sadly no Noah's nearby, and on Monday I went for a quick trip to Joann's to get more interfacing and got lots of extra goodies on sale during their labor day sale.

So what are my favorite outfits for mostly staying in but stepping out for a quick spell on a day off? The answer is cotton jersey dresses! <3

Outfit of the Day:

Mostly when I'm at home I love to be in my PJs... but when it's the weekend and I find myself needing to step out of the house I like to throw on a super comfy cotton jersey dress. And for extra comfort and convenience, I like to throw on a pair of stretchy cotton leggings underneath the dress. Cotton leggings were my staple in life in the 4th and 5th grade! ;)

Outfit of the day, kitties galore!

Hello Kittens!

On Sunday I went out to lunch with one of my bff's to celebrate her birthday. Wendy has been a busy bee as of late so we didn't have one of our marathon shopping/hang days as usual but we did have a great time catching up, having lunch in the Hayward home front at Buffalo Bills, then making a fun and much needed trip over to Joanns where I finally picked up my notions for my next dress project (but that will be a different post in the -hopefully- not too distant future), and she picked up tons of cute fabric for making quilts!

For this special bff birthday outing I wore my Peach/pink cat dress which Wendy spotted for me at Target (Modcloth now has this dress in blue), peach cardi also from Target, cat tights I got from ebay (which I've also seen on Modcloth), my Gabrielle Rocha peach flats from Zappos, and I topped it all off with a peach hair flower from my favorite local retro retailer Vintage Alley. It was like Caturday, only it was Sunday. :)
