Matching Your Dress To Your Teaware, Part 2

Last week I blogged about a perfect pairing, The Estate House Floral dress at Ruche and a tea for one by Grace Tea Ware in the blog post, Matching Your Dress To Your Teaware.

(If you missed it, you see the post from last week here.)

When I saw how perfectly paired these two were with each other it got me thinking, and keeping an eye out, for more perfect pairings.

Let me now introduce to you the second chapter in this perfect pairing series: The Cath Kidston Provence Rose Set of 4 Teacups and Saucers with a vintage 1950's romper and skirt two-piece spring and summer set I got from Etsy a while back.

The Cath Kidston Provence Rose Set of 4 Teacups and Saucers is a set of four teacups and saucers each featuring the Provence Rose motif: a red and pink Provence rose with green foliage encircled in a white cloud which is then surrounded by white dots. Several clouds of Provence roses are sprinkled throughout the body of the teacups. In each set of four, each teacup comes in a different color: green, yellow, blue, and pink! The corresponding saucers come in the color of the teacups but delightfully contrasts by featuring only the solid color of the cup rather than also displaying the Provence Rose motif. The center of the saucer where the teacups sits is a solid white as is the inside of the teacup, giving the teacup and saucer a nice visual balance.

Comparing the pattern of the Cath Kidston Provence Rose teacups with the pattern of my vintage 1950's romper and skirt set you will see definite similarities with some slight differences. My vintage 1950's romper and skirt set comes in a pink color with small darker pink flowers within the pink. Throughout the pattern of the fabric, there are several white clouds encompassing blue roses with green foliage.

While the two things are completely lovely on their own, together, they make a lovely pair! It makes me so excited to see how dandy these teacups look with this romper set!

I don't know how I first found Cath Kidston's designs but it must have been some lucky accident. If you haven't heard about Cath Kidston, you should definitely check out her website. Cath Kidston's designs are refreshingly retro with a sophisticated touch of shabby chic! Her homeware collection is my personal favorite section of her online store but she also carries a wealth of clothing, accessories, bags, purses, sewing boxes, kids' items as well as fabric and wall paper! If you are lucky, there may be an actual brick and mortar store near you. Sadly, there is not one in the US from this UK based designer, for now. But international shipping to the US on her website is only $8 for anything and everything if you use the coupon code found in her "delivery" section at the bottom of her home page.

    1. Thank you Porcelina! I am very excited about this series. It's so much fun to show off the matches I've found! Also, that is a great idea about the blue shoes for this pink dress. I'm thinking, after you suggested it, I should try this dress with my blue BAIT shoes which I wore in this post.... http://silvercatteaparty.blogspot.com/2014/04/dessert-first-then-film.html..... I honestly would not have thought to put them together. I think not only will it being out the blue in the dress like you suggested but would also emphasize a little more of a 50's look. Wonderful suggestion! :D
