Outfit of the Day: Spring Backlog of Outfits

I've been taking a bit of a break from blogging

While I've slowly been working on my backlog of reading all the great posts I've missed from all the wonderful bloggers I follow, I thought I should also start working on catching up with posting some Outfits of the Days from a few weeks ago.

Sunday:

A few weeks ago on a Sunday Tim and I went out for some errands. I think we went out for breakfast, a stop to Target, a quick stop at Ace Hardware and a stop at Home Depot. It wasn't the most glamorous day but I definitely felt glamorous all day in my Trashy Diva Trixie dress in Hurricane Ladies print! This is one of my favorite dresses that I own and one that is very close to my heart as it was actually gifted to me by an amazing person! To really play off the pink colors I paired this with a vintage beaded pink cardigan which I got from Etsy a couple years ago, and a pair of pink and cream Ione t-strap kitten heels by B.A.I.T. which I got from Amazon a couple years ago. For a finishing touch I wore this with a black Hell Bunny cinch belt, a pink beret I got from ebay last year, and a pair of pink circle earrings adorn with bows which I got from Forever 21 some years ago.

 Saturday:

A couple weeks ago Tim and I went for a walk around a nearby lake. We went to somewhat nearby Fremont for a walk around Lake Elizabeth, we then went to the mall, and then out to dinner at Red Lobster. I decided this day was the perfect opportunity to wear my Trashy Diva Apple Tart dress in Seersucker. I paired this with a red cardigan I got several years ago from Nordstrom Rack, and a pair of red Vans which Tim bought me as a gift about a year ago. For a finishing touch I paired this with a pair of apple stud earrings I got from Modcloth about two years ago.

Sunday:

That following Sunday it was a hot day. We decided to go to Dave and Busters to have fun and play in the arcade. Seeing as I recently wore my Hurricane Ladies dress I decided to stick to a theme and wear another one of my favorite dresses, my Trashy Diva Country Club dress in Butterflies! This dress was the Desperately Seeking dress that ended all desperately seeking dresses for me. While I still have dresses on my wishlist, after acquiring all the dresses I felt I was most desperately seeking including the Hurricane ladies print and this Butterflies print, I decided to refrain from ever elevating a dress to quite the level of desperately seeking as I had elevated these ones. After all, I have been so lucky in finding all the dresses I was most desperately seeking so I figured it was only right to step back and if I get lucky and find a dress on my wishlist for a decent price and if I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time, I would consider them wonderful little bonuses.

I got this dress back in October and have patiently been waiting for some hot weather to finally get to wear it out! I fully plan on living in this dress this summer!

The day before I had hurt my feet walking around the lake in my red Vans... Wearing shoes that haven't been fully broken in yet and without socks is definitely not a good idea. So what did I do the very next day? Wear shoes that haven't been fully broken in yet with socks. Okay, still not the best idea. And in hindsight my feet probably would have fared better in my usual broken in flats and my outfit probably would have looked better too. Oh well. I couldn't resist wearing my cat printed Vans with this butterfly printed dress. It was too fun a combo. For a finishing touch I paired this outfit with a yellow hair flower I got from Cats Like Us a couple years ago, a pair of golden bronze flower stud earrings I got from Forever 21 a couple years ago, and a new pair of sunglasses I got from Trashy Diva. I love how the bees and brown in the sunglasses seem to scream a perfect match with this butterfly print dress!

Vacation Slideshow: Halloween in New Orleans, Part 3

Hello Kittens!

Day 5 (Sunday):

The day after Halloween was a grey and rainy one. Tim and I were supposed to start the morning off with a visit to a friend's house across the river. I was really looking forward to visiting with my friend at her house, taking the ferry over there to see her, and having a bite of her homemade treats and a cup of tea over good conversation! Unfortunately Tim and I were both sick with colds by this time and we all decided it was for the best not to go over there and make everyone else sick. So instead we spent the morning walking around nearby Magazine St. When life gives you lemons you make lemonade.. so while it was a drizzly gray day, Magazine St was still an awfully cute street full of boutique shops and nice restaurants and bars. It was a nice relaxing morning just walking around and popping into some shops along the way.

For the afternoon Tim and I had tickets to ride the Steamboat Natchez down the Mississippi River! The Steamboat Natchez is the only fully steam powered boat operating in New Orleans. It was a lot of fun running around the boat, getting a tour of the sites along the river, peeking into the engine room, and watching the huge paddlewheel in the back go! As an added bonus, they had a musician playing the calliope on top of the boat while we were waiting to board and a jazz band playing during the ride!

After our steamboat ride, walking through the French quarter we walked past the Andrew Jackson Memorial and saw some other sights along the way!

Walking through the French Quarter that night we even happen to catch sight of a second line parade, a wedding parade! It was super fun watching the musicians and wedding party marching through the streets dancing and having a great time!

We ended the night going out to a fancy dance dinner at Commander's Palace. The food was amazing. I loved the turtle soup and bead pudding souffle! And the service was superb. We have never been so pampered out to dinner before. This is a must go to restaurant if you are ever in the area, and a must return to spot if we ever make it back!

Outfit of the Day
Sunday (day):
For the day I opted to wear my Trashy Diva Circle Skirt and Lena Top in Grand Fleur print. After all it was game day for the Saints and I was hoping to get some "Who Dat!" calls which is the Saints' football fan rally calls. Alas, no one did not mistake me for a tourist that day!

Sunday (night):
(pictured above) At night I changed into one of my most fanciest and most special dresses, my Trashy Diva Trixie dress in Hurricane Ladies print, and paired it with my nicest pearl necklace for our special fancy dress dinner. It was such a dream getting to wear this dress out in New Orleans! I just wish my picture turned out better though.

...Stay tuned for the last concluding segment of Vacation Slideshow: Halloween in New Orleans where we tour the Garden District!

Outfit of the Day: Multiple Outfit Roundup

Hello Kittens

A couple weeks ago was my birthday week and I was out and about celebrating with friends and family. While I have a ton of Outfit of the Day pics to share which I've kind of been keeping up with, I haven't been keeping up with my outfit posts completely, so I'm just going to do a bunch of them in this one Outfit of the Day post.

Outfit of the Day:
Sunday:
A couple weeks ago on Sunday Tim took me out to see Ant Man! I wanted to dress in Marvel colors and wore what my friend would call my comic book color dress! The movie was awesome by the way. One of my favorite recent Marvel movies. For this day's activities I wore a Trashy Diva Dottie dress in tribal print. I paired this with a mustard yellow cropped cardigan from Trashy Diva, yellow peep toe flats from Target and a yellow hair flower from Cats Like Us.

Friday:
On a Friday I took the day off to do my annual doctors visits for routine checkups. For this day I wore one of my most comfortable dresses, my Trashy Diva Dorothy dress in Irish Polka. I paired this with a green cropped cardigan I got from Modcloth and basic black flats.

Wednesday :
On Wednesday I went out to dinner for Thai with my mom and husband after work. For something extra special to wear I wore the butterfly dress I've been borrowing from a friend. I paired this with a yellow cropped cardigan from Trashy Diva and basic black flats.

Friday:
On Friday, I went out to eat with my mother in law and husband to one of my favorite places to eat, the Olive Garden. Picking out an extra special dress, I wore the most special dress I own, a Trashy Diva Trixie dress in Hurricane print which was gifted to me earlier this year. I paired this with a black mohair cropped cardigan and basic black flats.

Saturday:
On Saturday the nearby city of Fremont was having their annual Fremont Festival of the Arts. Like Hayward's Walk of Wine, I always look forward to going to this event. It's fun walking around in the sun looking at different arts and crafts booths and enjoying the day with friends. For this day's activities I wore a Trashy Diva Trixie dress in red gingham which I got for my birthday from my husband this year. I paired this with my red vans and a fun cherries necklace I got from Modcloth about a year ago. In hindsight I should have tried harder to find the shorter socks that are somewhere in my drawers though! :O lol
