Outfit of the Day: Living for the Weekend

Basically, the title of this post is the truth of things

Monday through Friday I work in a geology lab so I have to be careful what I wear. At any given moment I have to be prepared to crush up rocks or work with strong acids. It could be a clean day or it might be a very wet or dusty day. I am always looking forward to the weekend not only because that is when I get to wear pretty dress but also because that's when the fun begins!

Outfit of the Day (Sunday, last last weekend):

This is my outfit post from last last Sunday when we took the cats in for family portraits. I thought it made sense to separate the outfit pics from the rest of my previous post, so here it is now.

On this day I decided to wear my Trashy Diva Lena dress in Seersucker. For the family portraits I wanted to go matching and it came down to Seersucker or Gingham. I paired this with a rose pink colored cardigan by M.A.K. which I got from Trashy Diva last year and a peach pair of flats by Gabriella Rocha which I got from Zappos several years ago. For a finishing touch I wore a pair of rose stud earrings from Forever 21 also from a few years ago.

Outfit of the Day (Thursday):

While I say I mostly just wear dresses on the weekend there are the occasional times I go out after work midweek to meet up for dinner or whatnot. On Thursday Tim and I met up with his mom for a belated birthday dinner for me. I decided to wear my Trashy Diva Sadie dress in Mini Bows. I paired this with some basic black flats, a black bolero from Kohl's from several years ago and for a finishing touch wore a pair of sparkly black bow shaped earrings (from Vintage Alley from a few years ago) and a black sparkly headband (from Claire's from a few years ago).

Outfit of the Day (Saturday):

Saturday was another fun day! I went out with some friends to the annual Fremont Festival of the Arts. It's one of my favorite summertime activities. It used to be called the Fremont Arts and Wine festival but the city has since then dropped the "wine" part of the name (even though there is wine and margaritas at the event) in an attempt to put more focus on the art and crafts showcased there. I love walking around in the sun going from booth to booth looking at the different things for sale. One of my favorite things for sale is jewelry (which I bought this year), different kinds of food like baked goods, honey, teas, as well as ceramics, woodworking items, paintings, prints, clothes, and hats among other things. It is a great excuse to be out with friends enjoying a leisurely stroll and good conversation.

For this event I decided to wear my Pinup Girl Clothing Jenny dress in Paris print. I paired this with a white belt which I had from a Tatyana dress, a vintage light blue beaded cardigan which I got from the Vintage Fashion Expo in San Francisco last year, and blue flats by Rocket Dog which I got from Zappos several years ago. For a finishing touch I paired this with Erstwilder Farrah the French kitty earrings to go along with the French theme of the dress.

  1. All are such beautiful dresses on you, my pick though would have to be the Pairs Jenny dress - I really love this print! I adore that light blue, embroidered cardigan as well. xo

    1. Thank you Katherine! <3 I wish I could get away with dressing vintage repro to work but it's just too dangerous with the acids to have exposed legs or tights on. The weekends are the best anyway! ;)

  4. A trio of beautiful dresses. I know you like your bold colours, so the delicate pastels of the first look is a change for you - and one that suits you very well! All wonderful. x

  5. Stellar outfits one and all - that Parisian print dress is breathtaking!

I think it's extremely cool that you work in the field of geology. It's always been an area that interests me, too.

    1. Thank you Jessica! I am quiet impressed with the Paris print too! I love the colors! <3 And yes, Geology is a lot of fun. As time goes by I really like seeing how the amount of women in the field is increasing with time. <3
