Outfit of the Day: Date Night Movie Night

Yay for date nights!

When Tim and I were first dating we used to go to the movies all the time. I still have all the movie ticket stubs paying tribute to how much of movie junkies we were! It seems like every weekend we were out seeing a different movie. That was when I was just fresh out of college and movies for pleasure were a whole new world to me, not to mention free time in general! As time passed and we got bogged down with the redundancies of the 9-5 Monday-Friday work week we found that we haven't really taken as much advantage of the freedom of weekends as much as we used to. And never mind about movies! With the convenience of netflix we've come to the conclusion over time that most movies are just not very good, entertaining, nor all that interesting at all. I would say, 3 stars at best is usual... which in my book translates to, it's aight.

In any case, we actually did make it out to dinner and a movie last weekend and it was actually GOOD. For the first time in I don't know how long, I actually have no complaints about the movie at all... which I can tell you rare for me. If you haven't seen it already, do yourself a favor and watch Ex Machina. I'm not saying you really have to go to the movie theater to see... you can wait for the DVD, blue ray, digital download, but you should see it ;)

Outfit of the Day:
For date night last weekend I donned on my Trashy Diva Sweetie dress in Tropical Floral print. I just got this cute wooden bracelet that I knew would look so cute with the wooden buttons on my dress as well as the wooden buckle of the belt loop so I've been excited to wear this dress out! I paired this with a purple cardigan and my usual black flats. Also, surprise! I'm wearing my glasses on the weekend! It was a spur of the moment decision to go to the movies so just didn't really think to change out of my glasses into contacts but I do love the way it looked period with my dress anyway.

  1. You look so cute! The glasses look great on you, too. The Sweetie dress is such a lovely style!
That's good you liked the movie! Bob and I VERY rarely go to the movies also. And I agree with you that there are very few recent movies that I am impressed with.

    1. Thank you Bristol! I didn't feel like changing into my contact that day but the glasses really seemed to go with the outfit anyway ;) And so sad about most movies these day. At least there's still a few good movies that come out!

    1. Thank you Katherine! The bracelet was a score from a sell group I'm in! The seller only wanted to charge me $0.50 plus shipping for it but I gave her a bit extra for her efforts <3

  4. I can totally relate. When I was a student my husband and I went to the movies at least once a week and sometimes on the weeknights. But for the past couple of years we haven't been much at all. I can't even remember the last time. There aren't that many which I enjoy. And Netflix just came to Australia and it's given me so much more to do, I love it. You are looking beautiful as always. I love the colours and print to the dress, so unique and amazing.

    1. Thank you Imogen! Time flies doesn't it? And then you realize so many things that you really enjoyed doing you don't get around to doing so much anymore. Hopefully, that's were new hobbies and activities come in I guess :) Glad to hear that Australia got Netflix! Netflix is a beautiful beautiful thing! <3
